PUMPS
Bilge/Ballast Pumps - One (1) Barnes Model 25 CCE, or equal, centirfugal pump, complete with 15 HP, 60 Hz, 3
phase, 240 volt, 3500 rpm drip proof marine motor. Capacity of 120 gpm @ 160 feet TDH.
Fire and General Service Pump - One (1) Barnes Model 25 CCE, or equal, centrifugal pump, complete with 15 HP, 60
Hz, 3 phase, 240 volt, 3500 rpm drip-proof marine motor. Capacity of 120 gpm @ 160 feet TDH.
Fuel Oil Pump - One (1) Haight Model 70DR, or equal, transfer pump, complete with 5 HP, 60 Hz, 3 phase, 240
volt, 1750 rpm drip proof marine motor. Capacity of 70 gpm @ 50 psi.
Fresh Water Pumps/Pressure Set - Two (2) Fresh water pumps, Jacuzzi, or equal, 1/2 hp @ 3450 rpm, with 42-gallon
pressure tank. One pump shall be primary pump. Second pump will be plumbed as reserve.
Dirty Oil Pump: One (1) 1 HP rotary pump, Model and Make TBD.
Sewage Macerator Pump - 2 HP Aurora Hydro-Matic Model M/N PG200M, or equal.
Air Compressors: One (1) small air compressor for "shop" service
Engine Cooling: The Main/Auxilliary Engines and gears are cooled by engine raw water pumps through heat
exchangers. The Main Engines wil have engine mounted titanium plate coolers with a separate circuit for
turbocharger aftercooling. Cooling water for the AC unit(s) is supplied from a cross-over pipe between two sea
chests. All piping connections to engines are fitted with USCG approved flexible couplers.
Suction from the sea chest to main engine heat exchangers is through a duplex strainer with heavy butterfly lug
body valves on both sides of strainer. All generators have duplex strainers off the sea chest for raw water
supplied.
Oily Water Separator: One (1) Heli-Sep Model 500, for use with 300 gallon waste oil storage tank.
Off-ship Fire-fighting: A single monitor, with a nominal capacity of 2,000 gpm, fitted forward for fighting
off-ship fires will be installed by the Builder. Sea water for the monitor shall be supplied by a dedicated fire
pump driven by one of the diesel generators.
Towing Winch: The Aft Towing Winch is a Jon-Rie Intertech Series 500, with a capacity of 2000-ft of
"1 3/4" diameter Hawser. The winch produces a line pull of 70,000 lbs. a line speed of 30 FPM and a brake
holding force of 265,000 lbs.
The Hydraulic motor is furnished complete with a re-circulation (free-wheel) valve, which will free-wheel at a
line pull of approximately 75,000 lbs in neutral position (if the winch is overhauled) and 10,000 lbs. in the
emergency release (abort) mode.
Hawser Winch: As an option, a Jon-Rie Intertech Series 230, powered using the same HPU as the towing winch. The
winch has the capacity to spool over 450' of 7" synthetic hawser and will produce a line pull of 28,000 lbs, a line
speed of approximately 50 FPM and a brake holding force of 430,000 lbs. The winch also has a High-speed rating of
8,500 lbs. @ 150 fpm.
This winch features a re-circulation valve so the winch will RENDER/RECOVER when the tug is tethered to the
vessel and the brake set when the assist is started. This RENDER/RECOVER feature will work the 28,000 recover to
full render abort.
Crane: OPTION - As an option, an ESI Marine Crane Model T- 045M/3S, powered usign the same HPU as the aft towing
winch.
